From 1781 until 1789 The Articles of Confederation provided the United States with an ineffective government. The most citizens were non in support of them. The Articles could not efficiently manage the countrys debt. Also, they did not establish good foreign relations. Lastly, under the Articles, a great deal of land was ceded.
